The Beginning Of A New Year 2014 !!!

Sup everyone,

I hope everyone had a great new year !!!!

Last year for me, I learned quite a bit a about the whole DJ/entertainment industry. It made me change the way I was looking at things.

2012 was a great year for me. I played at many clubs and was pretty much booked solid for most of the year. When first getting into the top 40/house market, I spent a lot of time studying, networking and figuring out how the business/industry worked. In the middle of 2012, even though the DJ culture has changed already, I saw it changing even more.

The DJ now, is like the it thing to do. It seems that everyone and their mother wants to be a DJ/producer now. Before you had to be a good DJ to get into clubs. Now, it seems that if you produce some good tracks, you can get in. In the middle of 2012, I was not in the production game at all. I just wanted to get booked at clubs, and do what I love doing.

In mid to late 2012 I realized that I had to into production if I wanted to get to the next level. But how? My cousin has been producing for years and he was always telling me that eventually I was going to have to get into production. So I took a flight down to Miami and went to go pay him a visit. He loaded me up with Ableton, samples as well as some VST’s.

For the rest of 2012, I had the all the tools, but for some reason didn’t end up putting the time into it. It’s 2013 now and I had done a couple of gigs at the beginning of the year, but I knew what I was doing, was not going to take me to the level that I want. Pretty much for the rest of the 2013, I spent it learning the basics of production and how to navigate thought the software. I have learned a lot, but still have so much to learn.

As 2014 begins, I am excited to see what this year has to offer. I will be back in the clubs and will be releasing a lot more tracks. I’d like to thank everyone for their support and hope that you will continue to support the movement of DJ SWISS !!!
